Depart Eilat early morning, from Taba border where you will transfer to
Egypt and start your journey (about 3 hrs) into
the Sinai desert with your Egyptian guide.
Pass via Coral Island, and the desert scenes of Beduin tents and
villages on route.
Visit the monastery, built in 557 A.D.by the Emperor Justinian
which lays at the foot of Mt. Sinai . Here, traditionally G-d appeared
to
Moses in the form of a 'burning bush'. The name given to the monastery
honours Catherine, a Christian martyr who was sentenced to death
by the Romans.
Lunch and a short break for souvenir shopping
Possible swim along the Sinai coast.
Return to Taba border.

Depart
Eilat late evening from Taba - approximately 21:00 p.m.. travelling south
to Taba border, where you transfer to your
Egyptian crew and start your journey into the Sinai desert .
Drive south, along the shores of the Red Sea, and then head west
into the vast desert towards Mt. Sinai,
traditional site
where Moses received the Ten Commandments.
Stop
for a short coffee or tea break and start the climb at 2:00 a.m.
The strenuous trek up Mt Sinai, may have some of you huffing
and puffing up the traill (approximately 3 hours), but once
at the summit, you can rest. The dawn of a new day and the changing hues
of the horizon, are well worth the effort.
The climb down is much quicker and after your descent, you will
visit St. Catehrine's Monastery, in honour
of Catherine, a
Christian martyr who was sentenced to death by the Romans. Greek
Orthodox monks take care of the monastery, which
was built in the 6th Century at the foot of Mt. Sinai
Breakfast at Santa Plaza and drive to Nueiba
Lunch break.
Return to Eilat in the afternoon

Sinai High Mountains Region.
Time permitting,
stop at the Rock of Inscriptions.
Day
2
Rise early to start the climb to Mt. Sinai. (breakfast box from
hotel).
The strenuous trek up Mt Sinai, may have some of you huffing
and puffing up the traill (approximately 3 hours).

At the summit, a guided panoramic view of the area, with the dawn
of a new day and the changing hues of the horizon, are well worth the
effort.
The climb down is much quicker and after your descent, via Stephanus
Gate, (3000 steps)

Greek Orthodox monks take care of the monastery, which was built
in the 6th Century at the foot of Mt. Sinai
See the traditional site of the Burning Bush and Well of Jethro's

In the Monastery Garden, enter the Skulk Room, and roam around
the Olive Grove.
Lunch optional at a restaurant in a nearby Bedouin Village.
Time permitting an optional stopover in Nueiba.

Day
1: Taba to Cairo
• Depart Taba border at 5:00 a.m. where you will be met by the Egyptian
team and travel into Egypt westward across the Sinai desert via the
Suez Canal to Cairo. (approximately 385 km.)
• Arrive in Cairo and visit the Egyptian Museum, famous for its
antiquities dating back about 50 centuries, including the great archaeological
treasures from Tutankhamun’s tomb. (A visit to the Mummy room
entails an additional 100 LE p.p.)
• After lunch visit a papyrus institute for a demonstration of how
paper was made and an explanation of hieroglyphics.
•Travel to your hotel for overnight and a free evening.
(Optional Dinner Cruise on the Nile)
Day 2: Cairo - St. Cathrine's
• Visit the Cairo Pyramids, the only remaining wonder of the ancient
world, and as such, the world’s oldest tourist attraction and the
Sphinx.
• Tour ancient Cairo, starting with a visit to the Coptic Church
and then visit the Synagogue of Ben Ezra, Cairo’s oldest synagogue.
• Continue on to the Citadel of Saladin.
• Visit the Khan El Khalili Bazaar - packed with spices, perfume,
copperware, & trinkets, where those who wish to can purchase souvenirs.
• After a break at a local cafe, depart Cairo, driving to the Suez
Canal and under to the Sinai Peninsula.
• Continue on to St. Katherines for dinner and overnight. (The
route is approximately 6 hrs.)
Day 3:
St. Cathrine's - Taba
• Rise before dawn to start the trek up Mt. Sinai, which rises to
a height of approximately 7,500 feet.
(Please note: This hike is very strenuous and for people who are very
fit.)
• Once at the summit, you can rest and enjoy the dawn of a new day
with the spectacular sunrise over the dramatic landscape.
• Decend, for breakfast at the hotel.
• After breakfast, visit the Monastery built in honour of St.Catherine,
a Christian martyr who
was sentenced to death by the Romans.
Greek Orthodox monks take care of the monastery, which was built
in the 6th Century at the foot of Mt. Sinai,an altitude of some 5150 feet.
Drive towards Taba, stopping in Nueiba for lunch.
Return to Eilat

Day 1: Taba – Cairo
• Depart
Taba border 05:00 into Egypt, where you will be met and assisted by our
Egyptian Rep.
• Drive
to Cairo crossing the Sinai desert and Suez Canal. The road is approximately
385 km.
• Upon
your arrival at Giza you visit the three pyramids, the lion-headed Sphinx
and the valley temple at Giza Plateau, listed amongst the Seven Wonders
of the World.

Afterwards visit the Egyptian Museum, famous for its antiquities dating
back some 50 centuries from Egypt's Pharaonic period, including the fabulous
Treasurers of King Tut.
• Towards
evening transfer to the train station for your "sleeper train"
heading south to Aswan city.

of Queens: The total number of tombs is seventy. The Temple Queen Hatshepsut
was the only woman ever to rule as a Pharoah and consists mainly of three
terraces linked by ramps.

Two
Collossi of Memnon: These two huge statues of Amenhotep III, show Amenhotep
seated on his throne with the two Nile gods of Upper and Lower Egypt,
uniting the two lands.

Karnak
Temple: Covers an immense 100 acres (40.5 hectares). Of the 3 temple enclosures,
the grandest is the Precinct of Amun, the main place of worship. The Great
Hypostile Hall is 6000 sq. m and filled with immense stone pillars. The
entire site has colossal statues, reliefs, obelisks and halls, and of
course, the Avenue of Sphinxes. A processional path of ram sphinxes representing
Amun leads into the temple. Between the forelegs of these rams is a small
statue of Ramses II, Amun's servant .
•
Luxor
Temple: is guarded by a huge statue of Ramses II, and although a fraction
of the area of Karnak, it also contains, countless columns, statues and
sphinxes.
•
The
local representative will assist and transfer you to the train station
for your sleeper train heading north to Cairo.
•

Information
There is no need
for an Egyptian visa for tours to Sinai, which depart from Eilat for most
nationalities But, as there are some exceptions, you should advise your
nationality. If you arrive to Sinai from Egypt or fly directly, you must
obtain a visa from an Egyptian Embassy before departing.
Tours to Cairo & Egypt must have a full Egyptian visa.
Obtaining a Visa to Egypt
•
Travellers
to Egypt can obtain a visa in from the Egyptian consulate in their own country.
• Travellers
can also obtain a visa to Egypt at the Egyptian consulate in Eilat which
is open from 9:00 a.m - 2:00 p.m. daily, except Friday and Saturday. 1 passport
photo is required. The cost is 100 Shequesl (approx $25) and processing
is done on the spot
• Some Egyptian
operators can assist clients on organized tours to obtain their visa's at
the border, with pre-registration @ $25
• Israeli
citizens must obtain a visa at the consulate in Tel Aviv and processing
may take 2 - 3 weeks.
Notes:
V isa fees and border taxes are not included in our tour prices. You must
ensure that your passport is valid for at least six months from the date
of departure. Be sure to have re-entry permission upon leaving Israel. Do
not attempt to cross these borders with any kind of drug, weapon, ammunition
